A 20-YEAR-OLD woman who suffered 'serious' facial injuries was among those taken to hospital after a crash.

Emergency services were called to the A54 in Winsford on Sunday (April 21) following reports of a crash.

Cheshire Police officers arrived the scene, near the junction of Saint Johns Drive and Mount Pleasant Drive, shortly before 5pm to find two vehicles involved in the collision – a Subaru Impreza and a Vauxhall Mokka.

The Subaru passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Middlewich, suffered serious facial injuries was also taken to hospital.

The 24-year-old driver of the Subaru was uninjured.

The passenger of the Vauxhall, a five-year-old girl, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution, along with the driver - a 40 year-old woman.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At around 4.40pm on Sunday, officers responded to reports of a road traffic collision on the A54 in Winsford.

“Officers attended the scene near the junction of Saint Johns Drive and Mount Pleasant Drive, Winsford, and found the collision involved a black Subaru Impreza and a grey Vauxhall Mokka.

“The driver of the Vauxhall, a 40-year-old local woman, was taken to Leighton Hospital as a precaution.

“The passenger, a five-year-old girl, sustained minor injuries and has also been taken to Leighton Hospital.

“The driver of the Impreza, a 24-year-old man from Weaverham, was uninjured during the incident.

“The passenger, a 20-year-old woman from Middlewich, sustained serious facial injuries and was taken to Leighton Hospital. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, and she has since been discharged.”

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident but reopened by by 8.35pm.

As of 2pm on Monday, no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
